Upside Down

Our culture in the United States is functionally upside down

One striking example is the area of education.

The Professors:
The ones most trusted in Academia and most esteemed to teach in "higher education"--passing knowledge to the next generation

are the ones who are subverting even the existence of knowledge, and leaving students with NO basis for truth and reason.

All the while, the Bible gives us the picture of what is right side up.  "The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge; but fools despise wisdom and instruction" (Proverbs 1:7).  This is confirmed multiple times, in multiple ways, through the entire scriptures.  It is the word of God alone that gives us the standard of what will make us wise and what will (even though believing ourselves to be wise) make us fools.

But it is especially acute in the area of abortion.  Consider these...

The Prey:
The ones who are the most innocent, the most harmless, and the most vulnerable people in the land

are the ones who are the most condemned, hated, and targeted with violence and execution. (Preborn)

The Procurers:
The ones who should have the most vested interest in caring for and protecting these innocent victims

are the ones who are actively seeking out their slaughter, hiring assassins to murder them. (Parents)

The Practitioners:
The ones who have sworn an oath to help the weak, to heal, and to "do no harm"

are the ones who commit the most murders in the land (hundreds and thousands each), and are hired to do so.

The Powers:
The ones who are sworn to uphold the document that does recognizes the victims' rights and guarantees equal protection

are the ones who dehumanize the victims and secure the ability to destroy their lives.

The ones who are bound to make sure laws are according to the Constitution

are the ones who pervert the Constitution in their opinions.  Indeed, the ones whose task of impartial judgment (symbolized by a blindfolded individual with scales and a sword) are the ones who are partial in their judgment, stripping equal justice from the poorest and most needy.

The ones who are elected to write laws to establish equity for all the people in the states

are the ones making mischief by laws that are inconsistent and arbitrary.

The Pragmatists:
The ones who are dedicated to do "what works" for good end results

are the ones who keep doing what isn't working (in explicit opposition to the word of God) destroying the possibility for good end results.

The Perpetuators:
The ones who are the most lauded in the ProLife Movement as the champions of the preborn

are the ones who are diligently stopping the bills that would abolish abortion and finally protect the preborn, and thus are prolonging the Holocaust.

The Permissioners:
Many millions of Christians, whose opinion largely is opposed to the murders of their preborn neighbors (in the their votes, in their charity, and in their prayers)

are the ones who are allowing the murders which take place in their cities and states to continue without taking meaningful action to stop it or even go to speak up for the weak in the place where it is being committed.

The truth that is becoming more and more evident in this upside down world (a truth that Francis Schaeffer actually penned 30 years ago) that boldly states:

"Every abortion clinic should have a sign in front of it, saying, Open by permission of the church."  Francis Schaeffer

This sad state of affairs is poignantly illustrated in the symbol of abolition.  The upside down A represents the culture that has subverted God's righteous Law, to allow for the slaughter for fellow image bearers, humans in the first stages of life.  Even many in the ProLife Movement are using worldly reasoning and actions in their opposition of the evil.  Abolitionists are seeking to turn this whole system to right thinking and right action, in accordance with God's Higher Law, illustrated by the upright A in the symbol.

The world, and our society may say,

"These that have turned the world upside down are come hither also;" (from Acts 17:6),

But in reality, we are seeking to turn things right side up.

ABORTION MUST BE ABOLISHED.

Blood Guilt and Manasseh

We find in the word of God a record of a king named Manasseh.  He was the son of godly King Hezekiah, but chose the way of iniquity and idolatry and led Judah into gross abominations in God's face.

Deuteronomy 18:9 "When thou art come into the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations."

First on the list?

Deuteronomy 18:10 "There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire..."  CHILD SACRIFICE.

But Manasseh disregarded the Law of God, and led his people into those very things.

"So Manasseh made Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to err, and to do worse than the heathen, whom the LORD had destroyed before the children of Israel" (II Chronicles 33:9).

"Moreover Manasseh shed innocent blood very much, till he had filled Jerusalem from one end to another; beside his sin wherewith he made Judah to sin, in doing that which was evil in the sight of the LORD" (II Kings 21:16).

"And they built the high places of Baal, which are in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to cause their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire unto Molech; which I commanded them not, neither came it into my mind, that they should do this abomination, to cause Judah to sin" (Jeremiah 32:35).

The shedding of innocent blood defiles a people and pollutes a land.  Not Judah--not even Jerusalem, the apple of God's eye--was spared the devastating judgment for the sin of child sacrifice.

That was the kingdom of Judah.

"And they served their idols: which were a snare unto them.  Yea, they sacrificed their sons and their daughters unto devils,  And shed innocent blood, even the blood of their sons and of their daughters, whom they sacrificed unto the idols of Canaan: and the land was polluted with blood" (Psalm 106:36-38).

Let's look at another nation, say, the United States of America.  Here is a pie chart showing the comparison of deaths in various wars that the United States have been involved in:

We murder roughly the same number of innocent image-bearers in the womb each year, as American military personnel who have died in all American wars put together.

We have slain over 65 million children under "color" of law, and those are just the reported abortion murders.

I tremble for my country.

Innocent blood stains "the amber waves of grain".

It gushes in a trespass higher than the "purple mountain majesties".

It flows "from sea to shining sea".

The Blood Guilt Runs Deep

Bloodguilt splatters all of society, which promotes the shedding of innocent blood, celebrating the slaughter of son and daughter as they exult in the worship of Self and so many other false gods.

Bloodguilt splatters ProAbort leaders who have pursued the murder of color of law,

AND

Bloodguilt splatters ProLife leaders (politicians, organizations, etc.) who have produced iniquitous bills and measures to regulate that murder INSTEAD of establishing equal protection under that law, thus prolonging the Holocaust (Jeremiah 22:3; Psalm 82).

Bloodguilt splatters the medical community, which swears to "do no harm" at yet calls homicide "healthcare", and practices the butchering and poisoning the most vulnerable; who kill with forceps, needle, vacuum, or pill, assassinating their victims for a fee; and as doctors and nurses bring on themselves curses from the One Who said, "Cursed be he that taketh reward to slay an innocent person" (Deuteronomy 27:25).

Bloodguilt splatters mommies and daddies, who procure the murder of their children, and also grandmas and grandpas, and other relatives, and friends, who push for that murder, who pacify the conscience, saying

"It's for the best."

"You're not ready yet."

"It's not really a person yet."

"God knows your heart."

And for those who play an active part, such as driving the mom to the assassin's business and providing immoral support?  Bloodguilt.

It also splatters Christians and churches, who have permitted the murder of our neighbors:

By our silence and absence from the gates of death (Proverbs 31:8-9; I Corinthians 15:34),

By our neglect to obey God in seeking to deliver those ready to be slain (Proverbs 24:11-12).

By our failure to warn the wicked to turn from his wicked and trust on Christ (Ezekiel 3:18-19 & 33:7-9).

By not demanding that our leaders cease to do evil in regulating murder, and prod them to do well in establishing equal protection of the preborn (Isaiah 15-18 & 59:2-4).

By (sincerely and/or misguidedly) paying financially to support candidates, ProLife organizations, and bills that are partial and wrest protection of the ones we think to help (Exodus 23:2-3,6-7; James 2:8-9).

It splatters on pulpits, whose pastors do not speak about it in church or in the open public square for fear of offending someone, and it splatters on pews and parishioners, some of whom subsequently have not done their duty to love their neighbors as themselves in word AND deed, and some of whom are murdering their babies, thinking it no big deal, because it is not dealt with by the Christian community as it ought to be (Ezekiel 22; 23:37-39).

Because God's Law and Gospel are not brought into conflict with the culture of child sacrifice.

We are told in the Scriptures...

The bloodguilt runs deep indeed.

"Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people" (Proverbs 14:34)

The name Manasseh means "causing to forget".  Have we forgotten Who the LORD is?  "Now consider this, ye that forget God, lest I tear you in pieces, and there be none to deliver" (Psalm 50:22).

"Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?"

Let U.S. repent.  Let US repent.

And let us bring the Gospel into conflict with this bloody abomination, and call our countrymen to turn to Jesus Christ, Who is the only Savior from sin.  He is the only One Who can redeem those who are stained with the blood of the innocent, because He shed His own blood for the guilty.  "In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:" (Colossians 1:14).

Abortion must be abolished.

No HELP Found?

This picture was taken with my children on New Year's Day, 2020.

Behind my little ones is an empty church building, closed down, boarded up, and forgotten.

Notice the words on the sign:

"The place where help was found."

Tragically, in the midst of the present day abortion Holocaust, often NO MORE HELP is found for our preborn neighbors in church buildings that are full of people worshiping our God than is found in this abandoned assembly place.

As James would put it, "My brethren, these things ought not so to be."

"We have sinned against the LORD..." (I Samuel 7:6)

These photographs were taken on State Avenue in Kansas City, Kansas, not far from where I was raised--it strikes home to me the importance of considering the STATE of the church and the STATE of my soul.

"Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame" (I Corinthians 15:34).

Let us humble ourselves, examine ourselves, and consider our ways.  We must repent where needed and obey God by loving our neighbors as we love ourselves.

There are so many ways to righteously and practically love those who are drawn away to death.  Let us give an appropriate response (it is neither Biblical nor an act of justice to regulate murder by abortion through Pro Life legislation).

Bring the Gospel into conflict with child sacrifice!

Abortion must be abolished.

Every Little Minute

Are you bored with your life, little man?
Would you like to seek for justice in this land?
Would you like to be a hero in the street?
Rescue the defenseless and the weak?

Chorus
Think of every little minute
Two small babies murdered in it
Go and speak for the oppressed
And let Jesus do the rest.
Get your pamphlets, signs, open your mouth today?
Read the Bible, love your neighbor, and obey.

2
Are you tired with your play, little girl?
Would you like to make a difference in this world?
In the darkness you can boldly shine the Light,
And have mercy on those precious in His sight.

[Chorus]

3
Do you ever stop to think, Dad and Mom?
That the Pro Life Movement has been very wrong?
To regulate the murder is a sin--
It is grievous to the Maker of all men.

[Chorus]

Live pure! Speak true! Right wrong!  A-M-B-A!

[Twice adapted: by the Herndon children, and then by Deana Myers]

Abortion must be abolished.

Why AMBA?

Sometime ago, a brother in Christ sent me a message, asking why I always include the letters AMBA or the words "Abortion must be abolished" on each social media post or comment.

His main question, was

"Why AMBA?  Why not just JMBE (Jesus must be exalted)?"

The idea is that if Christians simply would exalt Christ, then that would by course stop abortion too.

After consideration, here was my response.

"First of all, I think it is a great idea (and is the chief end of mankind) to glorify Jesus in all we do. And I seek to do so.  I believe that can be seen readily in all my posts and writing.

I would encourage any Christian to use JMBE in their posts.

However, I am afraid that millions of Christians would agree with JMBE, say 'Amen' and NEVER apply that to abolishing the murder of their preborn neighbors (A broad statement and sentiment of calling for Christ to be exalted can be generally glossed over and lauded by Christians without addressing a particular area that needs to be addressed to exhort Christians to do their duty in exalting Christ in a culture of child sacrifice.).

History reveals the tragic failure.

MOST Bible preaching churches in America during the time of slavery did NOT do righteously in behalf of their neighbors in bondage, but they would have been proclaiming that 'Jesus must be exalted.'

Even among those churches that were "antislavery" and were of the "colonization society" were indifferent and even often antagonistic to the cry of the abolitionists.

During the holocaust of the Jews, there were 50 million church going Christians, who believed that Jesus must be exalted, but were silent and inactive as their neighbors were arrested and removed.  There were even Christians in a church beside the railroad tracks that would sing louder praises to God when the train passed, so that they could drown out the cries of the Jews being taken to the death camps.  They were loving and 'exalting Jesus in word', but not in deed and truth (I John 3:18).

Consider this quote by Martin Luther:

"If I profess with the loudest voice and clearest exposition every portion of the truth of God except precisely that little point which the world and the devil are at the moment attacking, I am not confessing Christ, however boldly I may be professing Christ.  Where the battle rages, there the loyalty of the soldier is proved.  And to be steady on all the battle fields besides is merely flight and disgrace if he flinches at that point."

So though those churches believed truth, and broadly declared that Jesus must be exalted, they failed to act to bring that truth to bear with the specific evil of the day in a way to exalt Him by Whose Name they were called.  Thus was it to their shame (I Corinthians 15:34).

Therefore I have chosen to exalt Jesus Christ by directly bringing the the Gospel into conflict with the evil of our day, speaking for those made in His image, "the least of these" with whom Jesus identifies Himself, who are being murdered in the very place where He was made flesh, entering the womb to redeem the world.

I believe that in all things, Jesus must be exalted, so I maintain that

"Abortion must be abolished."

Battle Truths from a Tribe of Israel for Us to Dwell On

When you think of the tribes of Israel, which names come to mind first?

Judah?

Levi?
Benjamin?

If so, you are like most people--these are probably the most well known tribes in the Bible.

But in total there were 12: Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Dan, Naphtali, Gad, Asher, Issachar, Manasseh, Ephraim, and Benjamin.

Manasseh and Ephraim are the double tribe from Joseph, so that actually only makes eleven.

The tribe I haven't mentioned yet, and the one that most likely would NOT be the first to come to mind--in fact, if I didn't mentioned this name, most Christians reading may never have never missed it--Zebulun.

The tribe of Zebulun are those descended from Leah's sixth son.  The name Zebulon means "to dwell" or "habitation".

I believe it would be edifying for Christians who are dwelling in this present world, to dwell upon this tribe for a bit.

It is one of my greatest joys to study Bible people that are often overlooked.

A long time could be spent on learning about the history, heroes, victories and failures of the tribe of Zebulun, as with any other tribe or family in the Scriptures!

Instead, I will just take a few instances (snapshots, if you will) from the life of this tribe from two periods of Isreal's History--The Judges and The Kings--and use them as examples for our edification today!

"Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come." (I Corinthians 10:11).

I. During the time of the Judges

A. In Barak's day (Judges 5), the people were under the cruel oppression of Jabin the king of Canaan and his infamous Captain, Sisera, who boasted a mighty host and 900 chariots of iron.

Let me say it again: boasted 900 CHARIOTS OF IRON.

Nine hundred "tanks" of that time.

It was a dark day.  They had cried unto God, and turned from their sin, and He raised up Deborah and Barak.

It was a day when Godly manhood was in short supply.  It was a day for heroes to come out of the shadows and stand for righteousness and for the name of their God.

When Barak (of Naphtali) finally rose to obey God, and called for men to rise and join him at Mount Tabor, men of Zebulun and Naphtali (and some others) were rallied to also obey.  In the song that Barak and Deborah sing in the next chapter (Judges 6), we find some interesting details about the brave men from Zebulun who arose to meet the challenge...

Judges 5:14 "Out of Ephraim was there a root of them against Amalek; after thee, Benjamin, among thy people; out of Machir came down governors, and out of Zebulun they that handle the pen of the writer."

I find it fascinating that the men of Zebulun who joined to battle alongside Barak were recorded as those "that handle the pen of the writer".

Gifted men who's skill was the written word not the handling of bow and spear!

It would have seemed natural for the scribes to have could have answered Barak's call to arms with,

"We are glad that you feel you must rise and fight Sisera'a host, but that is not our specific calling.  We are not warriors.  We hold the pen, not the sword.  We have all been givien different gifts and varying roles by God--we will do that which what we feel comfortable with!  So grateful God gave you such a vision and the strength to meet it!  Hope you all are successful!  We will be praying for you!  And when the battle is over, we will write your obituary or your praise!"

"...And in doing so, pretend as if we were fighting alongside of you at all times!"

Indeed, there were other tribes and regions of that day who did not heed the call to fight the adversary!  Those in Gilead, Dan, and Asher (Judges 5:17) stayed right where they were.  Others talked it over, considered the ramifications, had "great thoughts of heart", but never put their "great searchings" into action. Such was the tribe of Reuben (Judges 5:15,16).

In fact, most of the tribes of Israel did not take part in the battle!

What a testimony that Zebulun did not follow the indifference and inaction of the popular opinion.  The tribes of both Zebulun and Naphtali did not stoop to follow the crowd but went forward in hazard to their lives to fight against King Jabin's Canaanites and those 900 CHARIOTS OF IRON.

Judges 5:18 "Zebulun and Naphtali were a people that jeoparded their lives unto the death in the high places of the field."

Others from Ephraim, Benjamin, Machir (of Manasseh) joined valiantly with their brothers.

They put their lives on the line to defend their land, their homes, their families, and their neighbors (who had stayed at home).

B. And we find again that in Gideon's day, Zebulun again came to join the conflict:

Judges 6:35 "And he sent messengers throughout all Manasseh; who also was gathered after him: and he sent messengers unto Asher, and unto Zebulun, and unto Naphtali; and they came up to meet them."  Zebulun went up to join Gideon.

II.  During the time of Kings

The tribes were coming together to make David king over all the nation of Israel. This is recorded in the twelfth chapter of I Chronicles--a chapter full of great insights and lessons for warfare in the spiritual realm today!

I love to see what God wanted us to know about the various men and tribes right there.

In David's day:

I Chronicles 12:23,33 "And these are the numbers of the bands that were ready armed to the war, and came to David to Hebron, to turn the kingdom of Saul to him, according to the word of the LORD...Of Zebulun, such as went forth to battle, expert in war, with all instruments of war, fifty thousand, which could keep rank: they were not of double heart."

The men of Zebulun were...

  • such as went forth to battle
  • expert in war
  • skilled and armed with all instruments of war
  • could keep rank
  • not of double heart

Let US be as the men of Zebulun, who came to see David, the true king of Israel, crowned and honored--and his kingdom established.

Notice again how Zebulun was described.

A. They were "such as went forth to battle"
Let us ALL be those who are actively contending for the faith in our generation!  Let us reject the "but that's not my calling" excuse and be like Job in searching out the cause we know not!  Let us serve our God on more than one front: training our young, ministering to the poor and the homeless, rescuing the weak, snatching prey out of the mouths of lions, preaching in the open air, witnessing one on one to those who are lost--willing to go where the Lord leads (whether that be stateside, internationally, or just down the street at the local altar of Molech).

"Some want to live within sound of church and chapel bell.  I want to run a rescue shop within a yard of Hell." C.T. Studd.

B. They were "expert in war"
Let us become "expert in war" by training, by exercise in the Scriptures, and by EXPERIENCE through actual engagement in public and private venues.  Bringing the culture into conflict with the gospel of Jesus Christ on many fronts--the debate of creation vs. evolution, apologetics, evangelism, the holocaust of the preborn, etc.  The only way to become a seasoned veteran in any battle is to venture forth as a rookie and keep going--learn by hearing, seeing, and doing.

C. They were skilled and armed "with all instruments of war"
Let us arm ourselves "with ALL instruments of war", and take advantage of various facets and parts of service:

Whether it be on our knees in our closet weeping with our God,
standing at the murder mill preaching and pleading,
providing resources and information to those in need,
provoking the public in the streets,
dropping truth and tracts everywhere we go,
exhorting our brethren at church, around the table, and on social media,
provoke the people by your bumper magnets and stickers, signs, shirts, hats, and literature,

Studying and wielding the Sword of the LORD (the Bible),
being ready always to give an answer on what God's truth says concerning salvation, creation, dinosaurs, child sacrifice, abolition, marriage, sexuality, children, discipline, forgiveness, friendship, habits, finances, work ethic, authority, manhood, womanhood, government, justice, liberty, pornography, bondage, victory, evangelism, discipleship, prayer, martyrdom etc.

Learning basics of Biblical apologetics and gathering resources on various subjects to utilize and share.

Brothers and Sisters, let us wear the whole armor of God and bear the weapons of our warfare, which are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds.

D. They "could keep rank"
Let us "keep rank"--seeking to be orderly and effective in our labor, united with others in Christ for the task, intentional in our objective, and righteous in our steps to see the end accomplished to the redounding of the glory of our King!

E. They "were not of double heart"
Let us not be of double heart, but be constrained by the unfeigned love of Christ in all that we do.  We must be impassioned in our zeal and harnessed by truth.

May we who have been "brought nigh" already ourselves be obedient and represent our Savior and King, Jesus Christ, as ambassadors for His kingdom, faithful in a selfish culture that has rebelled against the Creator (denying His very existence and at peace with the murder of the preborn).

Let us be seeking souls to be saved and the abolition of child sacrifice to the praise of the glory of Jesus Christ, the true King!

Abortion must be abolished.

What's Wrong With America?

This post was written by my wife:

---

There is one major reason America is in the horrific state that it is in.

It is the blood dripping from her hands!

In just the last 45 years (not including the abortions performed before Roe v. Wade, and the many image bearers killed through chemical contraceptives, Plan B, and IVF) we have violently murdered over 63 million precious babies--their bodies taken away as medical waste to be burned or casually flushed down the toilet.  That is over the top sick!  It is grievous. And what makes it even more hideous is that the baby's own mother is responsible for each torture and death.

There is not a single moment, here in America, where a child is not being targeted for death by his/her mother and father--the planning, the plotting, the pressure--it is being discussed and decided on right now, someone is looking up a web site or making a phone call or withdrawing money to cover the costs as you sit and read these words!

And we as a nation, and even more sadly, as the Church, have lived at peace with this horror.

We settle in down in our comfortable home and comfortable lives while our neighbors are being taken way to die.  We are given a pious, pragmatic card to pay by those who tell us they know best--and then we look to them to know when to play it and when to keep it in our pocket.  This brings a false confidence that we are fighting the dragon in the only way we can.  This counsel is given from a powerless gospel and it is a disgrace to the One Who crushed the head of the enemy on the cross--and abolished death completely and forever!  The only way to kill this dragon is to pierce his heart immediately.  And we do this by looking into God's word alone for our battle plan.

As a Church, we have held firmly to our ProLife position--putting bumper stickers on our cars, signing ProLife petitions, voting the ProLife ticket, and giving money to the "Movement".  We think we are doing what needs to be done, because we are told that what we are doing is what needs to be done!

O, the state of the Church!  That we would listen to such vile advice and heed it.
As if the people of God did not have His word in their hands!
As if they did not know what He has already mandated must be done!

It is what the ten Boom family did during the Hitler's Holocaust--defying the evil laws of the Third Reich, defying their church leaders when told they must compromise and do nothing, and dying to their own comfort by rescuing Jews from certain death.

It is what other men and women have done to abolish the evil of their era throughout history--infanticide in Rome, the chattel slavery in the British Empire and the United States, twin killings in Nigeria, and temple prostitution/slavery and widow slayings in India!

"If thou forbear to deliver them that are drawn unto death, and those that are ready to be slain; if thou sayest, Behold, we knew it not; doth not he that pondereth the heart consider it? and he that keepeth thy soul, doth not he know it? and shall not he render to every man according to his works?" (Proverbs 24:11-12).

We must trust in the spiritual mean and methods God has given to us in His word.  We must be an obedient Church, loving God and out neighbor as ourselves!

But we are deceived.  And we are apathetic.

And being apathetic makes us easier targets to be deceived.

We have spent 40+ years cheering on other to "get the job done."  And we have gotten NO WHERE!  We applaud the incremental laws that are passed (i.e. protecting only certain babies from death-securing the slaughter of all the rest); we vote in ProLife leaders with hopes they will appoint ProLife Supreme Court justices in hopes that they will reverse Roe v. Wade (history lesson pause: Roe v. Wade was decided by a court that was comprised of a majority of justices who were nominated by Republican presidents); we choose one day a year to "highlight" LIFE in our churches, and yet often do what we can to soften the reality of abortion in case someone in the audience might have had one and may be greatly disturbed by the issue.

Yeah, and that too, we treat abortion like it's an issue!  It's not an issue.
It's coldblooded, for hire murder.
It's little babies being poisoned or burned to death, ripped to shreds, smashed and pulverized or dismembered, and then pulled out of their mother's womb.
And it is done to over 3,500 babies a day.
It's our Holocaust.

It is this approach of the ProLife Movement, that has given evil the ability to sink its talons deeper into our culture.  It has made Christians wimpy.  It has made the Church compromise.  You cannot abolish any evil by justifying or allowing it to continue in some cases.  ANY strategy for ending abortion in this country which allows for the continued occurrence of some abortions for the sake of eventually outlawing the rest, though seemingly pragmatic, is compromise, and its promises of effectiveness are false.  It's not slaying the dragon, it is feeding the dragon.  Unless we become dissidents of thise culture of death we will never see this evil abolished.

There are Biblical grounds that make the abolishing of abortion a mandatory mission--mandatory--meaning every believer in Jesus Christ, every body of believers that gather regularly under His name, must rise up and do SOMETHING personally and corporately about it (James 1:27; Proverbs 24:10-12; 29:7;31:8-9; Psalm 7:9; 82:3-4; Luke 11:42; Ephesians 5:11; II Corinthians 10:5; Jude 23 and many more!).

Just like every other abolitionist, in every other evil age (one of my favorites being Amy Carmichael, missionary to India), we are to do God work by exposing and bringing down every work of darkness!  We are to bring justice in the name of Jesus Christ to those who are oppressed (Ezekiel 22)!

It really doesn't matter who is president.  Really!  America will never be great again if America continues to murder her preborn babies.  Period. There is NO way to get around the judgment God promises to fall on a people that sacrifice their children in the fire of Molech.  God tells us quite plainly that His hates the "hands that shed innocent blood" (Proverbs 6:16-17) and when "Manasseh shed innocent blood very much, till he had filled Jerusalem from one end to another" (II Kings 21:16), God spoke vehemently regarding His own beloved Jerusalem, the apple of His eye:

"Behold, I am bringing such evil upon Jerusalem and Judah, that whosoever heareth of it, both his ears shall tingle...and I will deliver them into the hand of their enemies, and they shall become a prey and a spoil to all their enemies" (II Kings 21:12-14).

Our country wil continue down this slippery slope of destruction and she will be bringing this demise on her own head.  It doesn't matter who is in the White House or who is seated on the Supreme Court, if we continue to murder our children!  And killing our own children is, by the way, in Scripture, both worthy of judgment, AND is a promised judgment to nation that is rebelling against God.

Abortion may be sanctioned unconstitutionally by the courts, and justified under color of law, but there would be no abortion industry if there was no demand for it.  The citizens of or United States demand abortion to the tune of 1.2 million a year!  Abortion is sin and we must bring it into conflict with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

We must use the Gospel to turn those running headlong into destruction away from their sin!

We must seek out and stand by godly leaders like Senator Joseph Silk in Oklahoma and Representatives Heather Scott and John Green in Idaho, and Representative Curt Nisly in Indiana who will do all they can (at the risk of their own future careers) to stand up to the Federal Beast and the ProLife Establishment that collaborates with the murder, to put forth bills, demanding the total and immediate abolition of murder by abortion.  It should be the first item on any political agenda.

And we must repent of our apathy and disinterest, Church!

Lamentations 3:51 tell us that if we need our hearts to be evoked (ignite passion and give us a voice as strong as thunder) we should open our eyes and look!  It is our eyes that affect our hearts.. Open your eyes, dear friends, and loo at the face of child sacrifice.  Look at its stark reality.  Look at its tiny victims.  It will be disturbing and will make you queasy.  You might have a bad day because of it.  I hope you have a bad day because of it.  But, PLEASE, whatever you do, dear Christian, keep looking unto your heart is affected!

Repent with my family over the apathetic and pathertic way we have allowed our most innocent neighbors to be beaten and left for dead (Luke 10:25-37).

We must stand up against this evil and honestly ask ourselves, "What does Christianity look like in a culture that kills its own children?

If just 1% of the Church stood up in Biblical opposition to legal murder of the preborn, I do believe we would see it brought down.  What a sad commentary--THAT NOT EVEN 1% of the Body of Christ will stop to help these poor little neighbors being beaten to death down the road from their assembly places.  Just 1% of the Bible believing, ProLife Churches in our region would represent thousands!  Millions of American Christians have a moral opinion regarding the crime, but do not feel that they have the time to (or specific call to) stop and bind up the wounds--to call for justice and equity (as specifically commanded in Scripture).

Remember it was the religious men who held a correct moral opinion that were condemned  for behaving wicked;y in the parable of the Good Samaritan.  They were the priest and the Levite.  They were on their way to serve God and yet were among the "bad guys" in the drame that the Lord set before us.  Why?  Because they were bad neighbors!

And just like the lawyer who was first told this story, we are quick as the people of God to justify ourselves and say, "and who is my neighbor? I mean, really, Jesus, there are so many people in need.  I surely can't help every single one!

I love that Jesus' response to that justification did not include agreeing with this sentiment.  Instead He cut straight to the chase--"Go and do likewise!" (Luke 10).

Every member of of the Church is COMMANDED in this.  Jesus told us that the greatest two commandments were to love God (the One in WHose image these little babies are made at conception and then are murdered in the place of the incarnation of Jesus Christ, God the Son, the place where He chose to enter the world), and to lover our neighbors as we love ourselves (treating our preborn neighbor as we would want someone to treat us).

We have been compliant and complacent long enough!

No Room for Mentioning Abortion When Preaching Through Daniel Nine...Excuse ME?

A friend of mine on Facebook made a post the other day that expressed the opinion that if a pastor really cared for the preborn, he would find a way to talk about abortion in his church every week.

This brought on a whole slough of responses, one of which caught my eye.

The comment stated:  "Not if he is an expository preacher.  I preached from Daniel 9 today and didn't mention abortion.  Don't plan to mention it next week either."

It greatly bothered me that this pastor replied so pathetically (due to the fact that we know at least 3500 preborn babies ARE murdered daily in this nation by the under the color of law but no one's gonna guilt him into bringing it up to his congregation) and flippantly (as if abortion really isn't homicide in the worst degree or that preborn babies have any more value then the toddlers being taught in his Children's Church) to arrogantly state that Daniel 9 did not lend itself in any way to talking about the sin of abortion.

I happen to love the ninth chapter of Daniel (and specifically the prayer of Daniel it contains) with a passion, and I could not help but make the following comment:

"Daniel 9?  This Daniel 9?"

3 "And I set my face unto the Lord God, to seek by prayer and supplications, with fasting, and sackcloth, and ashes:"
4 "And I prayed unto the LORD my God, and made my confession, and said, O Lord, the great and dreadful God, keeping the covenant and mercy to them that love him, and to them that keep his commandments;"
5 "We have sinned, and have committed iniquity, and have done wickedly, and have rebelled, even by departing from thy precepts and from thy judgments:"
6 "Neither have we hearkened unto thy servants the prophets, which spake in thy name to our kings, our princes, and our fathers, and to all the people of the land."
7 "O Lord, righteousness belongeth unto thee, but unto us confusion of faces, as at this day; to the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and unto all Israel, that are near, and that are far off, through all the countries whither thou hast driven them, because of their trespass that they have trespassed against thee."
8 "O Lord, to us belongeth confusion of face, to our kings, to our princes, and to our fathers, because we have sinned against thee."
9 "To the Lord our God belong mercies and forgivenesses, though we have rebelled against him;"
10 "Neither have we obeyed the voice of the LORD our God, to walk in his laws, which he set before us by his servants the prophets."
11 "Yea, all Israel have transgressed thy law, even by departing, that they might not obey thy voice; therefore the curse is poured upon us, and the oath that is written in the law of Moses the servant of God, because we have sinned against him." 12 "And he hath confirmed his words, which he spake against us, and against our judges that judged us, by bringing upon us a great evil: for under the whole heaven hath not been done as hath been done upon Jerusalem."
13 "As it is written in the law of Moses, all this evil is come upon us: yet made we not our prayer before the LORD our God, that we might turn from our iniquities, and understand thy truth."
14 "Therefore hath the LORD watched upon the evil, and brought it upon us: for the LORD our God is righteous in all his works which he doeth: for we obeyed not his voice."
15 "And now, O Lord our God, that hast brought thy people forth out of the land of Egypt with a mighty hand, and hast gotten thee renown, as at this day; we have sinned, we have done wickedly."
16 "O Lord, according to all thy righteousness, I beseech thee, let thine anger and thy fury be turned away from thy city Jerusalem, thy holy mountain: because for our sins, and for the iniquities of our fathers, Jerusalem and thy people are become a reproach to all that are about us."
17 "Now therefore, O our God, hear the prayer of thy servant, and his supplications, and cause thy face to shine upon thy sanctuary that is desolate, for the Lord's sake."
18 "O my God, incline thine ear, and hear; open thine eyes, and behold our desolations, and the city which is called by thy name: for we do not present our supplications before thee for our righteousnesses, but for thy great mercies."
19 "O Lord, hear; O Lord, forgive; O Lord, hearken and do; defer not, for thine own sake, O my God: for thy city and thy people are called by thy name."
20 "And whiles I was speaking, and praying, and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my supplication before the LORD my God for the holy mountain of my God;"

"So, you are saying that when Daniel was seeking God's face in prayer,

When he laid out and confessed the sins of his people,

When he acknowledged God's just judgment upon them for their iniquities (the most grievous among them having been child sacrifice and the shedding of innocent blood),

When he beseeched God's mercy,

The horrific act of abortion, our Nation's holocaust of the greatest proportion, did not enter your mind?

There is much parallel to our own society:

Our sin as a people, including the massive slaughter of our children, far outnumbering the bloodshed of King Manasseh, which precipitated the Captivity, and the justice of God and the need for God's people to seek His face in repentance?

This would seem a most opportune moment in the book of Daniel to bring up abortion."

Then I finished up my comment...

"We must also must consider that the brother in Christ who made the original post didn't say that a pastor had to mention abortion IN the sermon.  He said "in church".  I would assume that he meant during the service somewhere, in the sermon, yes,

OR in announcements...
perhaps inviting the body to join him at the local abortion mill to preach and plead, or to the streets for public engagement, to bring the Gospel into conflict with the culture that tolerates baby murder and engage for truth in that venue,

OR during a testimony time to thank the Lord for the "save last week of a mother who turned from the killing of her child",

OR in prayer for the turning of our nation's leaders to establish justice and equity for the preborn as well as the born, for the parents who are scheduled to murder the children to hear the truth and repent, not only turning from abortion, but turning to the Saviour."

The truth of God must be proclaimed.  Abortion must be abolished.
