No HELP Found?

This picture was taken with my children on New Year's Day, 2020.

Behind my little ones is an empty church building, closed down, boarded up, and forgotten.

Notice the words on the sign:

"The place where help was found."

Tragically, in the midst of the present day abortion Holocaust, often NO MORE HELP is found for our preborn neighbors in church buildings that are full of people worshiping our God than is found in this abandoned assembly place.

As James would put it, "My brethren, these things ought not so to be."

"We have sinned against the LORD..." (I Samuel 7:6)

These photographs were taken on State Avenue in Kansas City, Kansas, not far from where I was raised--it strikes home to me the importance of considering the STATE of the church and the STATE of my soul.

"Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame" (I Corinthians 15:34).

Let us humble ourselves, examine ourselves, and consider our ways.  We must repent where needed and obey God by loving our neighbors as we love ourselves.

There are so many ways to righteously and practically love those who are drawn away to death.  Let us give an appropriate response (it is neither Biblical nor an act of justice to regulate murder by abortion through Pro Life legislation).

Bring the Gospel into conflict with child sacrifice!

Abortion must be abolished.

What if the Baby is Going to Die Anyway? Exception?

Here is another exception that many have put forward on the subject of abortion.

"What if the baby has something wrong with them?  Some issue that will cause them to not be able to survive anyway?  That they won't live more than a few minutes, or hours, or days?  Is it not better to abort in that case?  Isn't this an exception?"

There are some things to take into reckoning about this.  We will look at three.

First, and this should be obvious.
Doctors are not God.  God is.  Physicians do not know the future and can make mistakes.  Often they are trying to cover their own backs from possible lawsuits.  There have been cases in which parents have been told that their child would not survive, were greatly pressured to abort, refused, and gave birth to babies who survived, and some who were completely healthy.  Tests results can be mistaken, and God can still heal.

But what if the child really is going to die?

Second:
Consider the following scenario:

If a car goes off a bridge into raging river and sinks, and I swim down to try to help the driver.  He is jammed in there, and I cannot free him.  He is certain to drown.  Let's say I "resolve" the issue by taking my knife and stab him to death.

When they drag the car out of the river, and discover the body, there will be a criminal investigation.   You see, even though he was going to die anyway, I would and should be prosecuted.  Because what I did was murder.

So this circumstantial argument does not justify murder.  Jesus said, "Thou shalt do NO murder" (Matthew 19:18).  Period.

Third:
Furthermore, I personally know of couples who have found themselves in this traumatic scenario.  Here is one example.

The baby whom the mother was carrying in her womb had physical problems, which caused her only to live a few days outside the womb.

It was a severely difficult and mournful time for sure, but also a precious time in which they were able to speak to and love on that child.  And I am quite certain that they would not trade those hours for anything.

My wife and I lost our second child, firstborn son, William Livingstone Samuel, while he was still in the womb.  He was born early, already passed.  If given a chance, I would have fought tooth and nail to have been able to hold him while he was still alive, even if he was destined to die minutes or hours later.

These are our children we are talking about!  Murder by abortion is NEVER the solution.

Abortion must be abolished.

"How Dare You Judge?" And a Soft Answer

This is from a conversation (in 2015) outside Planned Parenthood in Overland Park, Kansas.

An angry individual in a black mustang stopped on the way to his work, pulled over to the curb, and rolled down his window to give me a piece of his mind.

Here was part of the conversation:

Angry Man: "Can't you do something better with your time?"

Abolitionist: "What could be better than saving a life?"

Angry Man: "How dare you stand in judgment of these women!"

Abolitionist: "Is that your 'judgment': that we are standing in judgment?  We stand because we care for these women and for their children.

Angry Man: [stammering with flashing eyes] "You have no idea of what these women's circumstances are.

Abolitionist: "You are right.  But we offer that same help and hope to women no matter their circumstances.  And just this week we are excited to meet a little baby that was saved because we stand outside these places.  We've been able to walk with this woman through her entire pregnancy and have had joy in assisting even after her baby was born."

I shared that we are Christians, are seeking to love our neighbors as ourselves, and share the Gospel of Christ, bringing it into conflict with this sin.

The Angry Man, who had no ready reply, and was obviously not angry anymore, reached out to take a 180 Movie and tract, and drove away.

I still see him drive past from time to time, and often he waves.

It is not about winning an argument or shutting up those who mock.  It is about our being willing to speak out of love to those who spit on what we do. It is about reasonable answers and watching the holy Spirit quiet the enemy.  God is good and His truth will not lose.

Proverbs 15:1 "A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger."

Abortion must be abolished.

An Evil ProLife Response to an Evil ProMurder Opinion

When the Kansas Supreme Court "ruled" in 2019 that abortion was constitutional in our State, Kansans for Life and Republican legislators responded in opposition.  This current session they have made it their highest priority to correct the Court.  ProLife leaders chose to put forth an amendment to the state constitution in response to the Kansas Supreme Court's assertion.

[I know that a large number of ProLife legislators and a lot of Christians in Kansas believe that this is a good move.  I understand that many have good intentions in supporting it.  Let's go on.]

In 2020, this amendment was voted down by the Legislature, but those who are pushing this to be on the ballot are trying again NOW in 2021.

So What?

People have asked my position concerning this amendment.  I do not support it.  Rather, I  find myself in direct opposition to it!  Here is one stark problem I find.

Although the "purpose" of the amendment is to establish that the right to an abortion is NOT in our state constitution, its wording expressly states that the people have the right to regulate abortion through legislation.  Thus, abortion is then put in the constitution!

"A PROPOSITION to amend the bill of right of the constitution of the state of Kansas by adding a new section thereto stating that there is no constitutional right to an abortion, and reserving to the people the ability to regulate abortion through the elected members of the legislature of the state of Kansas."

Hence, the amendment puts abortion into the constitution. Should this be our goal?

Does this protect preborn humans under the law from murder by abortion?  No.

Does it declare that the people of Kansas can and should establish equal protection by abolishing murder by abortion?  No.

In contrast, this language (promoted and pushed by ProLife legislators and lobbyists in Kansas)  will protect their regulatory laws and the freedom to make more!  It will not protect the preborn babies.

The following needs to be clarified:
Kansas does not have the right to regulate the murder of some humans.  Kansas has the duty to protect all humans from being murdered.

The amendment not only WOULD NOT protect any babies from being killed, but WOULD actually be an obstacle to the abolition of this great evil.  If amended, it would put abortion into the state constitution itself.  As difficult as it may be to amend the constitution, it is MORE difficult to remove an amendment once put in.

Child sacrifice should not be allowed or regulated under "color "of law.

Consider the wording:

"Because Kansans value both women and children, the constitution of the state of Kansas does not require government funding of abortion and does not create or secure a right to abortion.  To the extent permitted by the constitution of the United States, the people, through their elected state representatives and state senators, may pass laws regarding abortion...Explanatory statement: the Value Them Both Amendment would reserve to the people of Kansas, through their elected legislators, the right to pass laws to regulate abortion..."

This amendment DOES NOT Value Them Both.

It does NOT value children equally AT ALL.

What if there was an amendment that said, "We value both men and women, so we want to be able to regulate how women can be raped, if men want to do it."  That is atrocious!  It is offensive and demeaning to BOTH men and women!

Well, THIS amendment says, "We value both women and children, so we want to be able to regulate how children can be murdered, if women want to do it."   That is just as atrocious.  It is offensive to BOTH women and children!

It shows partiality, and God is against it.

James 2:4,8-9 "Are ye not then partial in your selves, and are become judges of evil thoughts?...If ye fulfill the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well: But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the laws as transgressors."

Regulating who can murder, when they can murder, how they can murder, where they can murder, and why they can murder IS making an iniquitous decree.

God says, "Woe unto them that decree unrighteous decrees, and that write grievousness which they have prescribed; To turn aside the needy from judgment, and to take away the right from the poor of my people, that widows may be their prey, and that they may rob the fatherless!" (Isaiah 10:1-2).

Again, many well meaning people will sincerely suppose that they are doing good in this measure.  But we MUST beware of opposing evil in a way that God calls evil (Exodus 23:2,3,6-8; Jeremiah 22:3).

What we have is an EVIL OPINION of ProMurder judges and an EVIL RESPONSE from ProLife leaders.

And "Bleeding Kansas" will continue to shed the blood of thousands of innocent and vulnerable children with government and societal permission.

Now What?

We have to reckon on the truth.

The Kansas Supreme Court made an unconstitutional opinion which violated the express wording of the state and federal constitutions (following the evil example of the United States Supreme Court in Roe v Wade, Planned Parenthood v Casey, etc.), and the higher Law of God.    It is Unjust rather than just.  It is Partial rather than impartial.  It is NOT equal justice under the law.  Inequity is iniquity.

Their opinion, being Unconstitutional and Evil, is a declaration without any strength and one that needs to be defied and ignored!

The constitution of the state of Kansas does not need to be changed, any more that the U.S. constitution needs to be changed in this regard.  Both already secure the inalienable right to life!

We have to act on the truth.

Christians must call on our leaders to create legislation that will establish EQUAL protection from murder for all humans in the state of Kansas.  That is our duty.

We are commanded to love our neighbors (no matter their age or location) as we love ourselves.  We are to love them in word and deed and in truth (James 2:8; I John 3:18).

We are told NOT to call evil "good" (Isaiah 5:20).  God has showed us what is good.

We are required to do justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with our God (Micah 6:8).

Duty is ours.  Results are God's.
