Amendment 3 for Missouri - Wrong, BOTH TIMES, But Whose Fingers Drip with Culpability?

For those who may not be aware...

There was an iniquitous amendment (Amendment 3) voted into the Missouri State Constitution in 2024.  It put the supposed "right" to murder children in the womb into the Constitution (the law of the land).

Both prolifers and abolitionists were rightly in opposition to it.

This year in 2026, there is another Amendment 3 on the ballot.  The resolution for this was produced and promoted by ProLife organizations and legislators as the ProLife response to the former amendment.  It has been lauded and applauded as what is needed.  Churches are being pressed to vote yes on it, as their duty for the preborn.

But abolitionists are opposed to it.  Why?  Because it is, once again, an iniquitous decree.

Among other things, the new Amendment 3 allows babies to be murdered in cases of certain exceptions, for instance:

-if the father of the child was a rapist, then the innocent child is able to receive the death penalty, not the guilty party.

-it allows for taxpayer money to pay for abortions in the case of rape.

-if the child is found or tested to have fetal anomalies, then they may be killed.

and there are more factors.  The amendment does not do anything to prosecute murder pill by mail (a rising major way to commit child sacrifice in every state), and morever makes any mothers who murder their children via abortion completely immune to prosecution, and it does not establish equal justice for the preborn.

The ProLife Movement is being told that this is a step in the right direction and can be improved later.  I have written other articles to show the general error of regulating child sacrifice to trim away a little at a time.  But it must be confessed immediately that this is not even merely a bill to pass a statute which can be easily overruled by a subsequent law.  This is enshrining murder into the Constitution itself.

Some have said that since murder is already allowed into the Constitution, at least this is better, because it restricts some of it.  To this I point out the Poignant difference of how the two Amendment 3's are entered into the Constitution.  The means matters.

1- The old Amendment 3 that was put in the MO State Constitution (2024) was put there in the teeth of the exertions of the church of Missouri.  The people of God were fighting against it.  The enshrinement of murder there was not on the hands of the MO Christians.  It was something that was fought against.  The church is not directly culpable in that vote.

2. The new Amendment 3 (2026), if it gets passed, will be putting the enshrinement of murder of preborn humans on the heads of the church in Missouri, who will go down in history as the ones who responded to evil with evil, who put their fingers to vote for murder under color of law in the Constitution itself.  The church in Missouri will be directly culpable in that vote.

The church of the living Lord of Life will be guilty before history, and before the God who tells us,

"He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?" (Micah 6:8).

That iniquitous blame will be on the hands of well-meaning Missourian Christians will have made that happen.  This should not be the desire of the people of God in the Show Me state.  Our desire ought to be to agree with our God, to not follow iniquity, to not be guilty of partiality, but rather humbly do justly and love mercy before our God, trusting Him for the results.  We need to repent, call our legislators to repent, and do their duty in the next legislative session!

As Charles Spurgeon said, “Of two evils, choose neither.”

ABORTION MUST BE ABOLISHED.
