Sackcloth and Ashes NOW

If the body of Christ would repent of our apathy in regards to child sacrifice, cease to do evil in regulating murder, and learn to do well in engaging for the criminalization of murder by abortionabolishing this great evil in each stateit would not matter who was our President.

I implore the people of God to REPENT.

Let us take the example of another people who greatly deserved the wrath of God.

"But let man and beast be covered with sackcloth, and cry mightily unto God: yea, let them turn every one from his evil way, and from the violence that is in their hands.  Who can tell if God will turn and repent, and turn away from his fierce anger, that we perish not?" (Jonah 3:8).

Let us humble ourselves and heed rebuke for our complicity, collaboration, compromise, and complacency concerning the horrific slaughter of the preborn.

Let us repent of our silence and absence.

Let us cry mightily unto God for forgiveness and mercy.

Let us turn from the violence that is in OUR hands.

Let us call for justice and equity for the oppressed and defy the evil and unconstitutional court opinion that says you must allow for the murder of some people.

Let us go to the gates of death to rescue the perishing.

Let us exhort one another to be salt and lightbringing the Gospel into conflict with the culture of death.

Let us quit ourselves like men.

And, let us do exploits in the name of Jesus Christ our Savior.

Abortion must be abolished.

Now That's What I am Chalking About.

Once an individual (or family) has come to embrace the tenets of abolition, there comes a question:

"How are some practical ways that I can get truth out to my neighbors, to expose the evil of the preborn holocaust, bring the Gospel to bear, and point them to where they can learn more about being on the right side of history?"

There are a multitude of ways to do this,

some more involved than others,

some taking more time or resources,

some more daunting perhaps.

Here is but one way of many...

It is true that you might not be able to do ALL the types of seeding the culture...

But just about anyone can grab a piece of chalk and write something when they park the car.

Write something right.

When you are out and about, consider how you  can share truth with others, including those you may never meet, but who will come along after you have left.

Ever wonder how you could witness the truth about the Gospel and the abortion holocaust with people you don't know without even talking with them or seeing them?

What if you put messages like this on the sidewalk when you went for a walk each day?

Or when you stopped to pump gas?

Or when you parked at the store?

On your own steps.

Or the street corner.

You might write a little.

Or you might write a lot.

You may simply leave a Web site for someone to look up.

Or you may just put down a symbol to stir curiosity, so that people have to seek out for themselves what it means.

Later, you just might see people reading what you wrote.

If they are trying to wash it away, that can be a sign of conviction.  It's doing its job.

You may come back later and find that someone responded, and you can add more.

Who could be encouraged, convicted, challenged?  Only the Lord knows.

Why not sow some seed today and trust Jesus for fruit?

And of course, it also can be done at most abortion mills, right at the gates of death.

Abolitionists call it by various names:

#TruthChalk

#PavementPreaching

#SidechalkCounseling

That's what I am chalking about.

It doesn't have to take long to do.

It is not vandalism.  It washed away easily, so will last till the next rain, or bucket of water, or sprinkler cycle.

It certainly doesn't cost much. Sidewalk chalk is inexpensive.

It is so easy that even grown ups can do it!  An individual, a family, or a group of youths, or a church, can take this and run with it, sharing truth with their society wherever they go.

So #WritewhatsRight.

Abortion must be abolished.

"You Aren't Doing It Right."

It just so happens that occasionally when a follower of Jesus Christ is evangelizing in the public square, another Christian will approach him.

Of course, one may assume that the newly arriving believer is there to stand in solidarity with a brother, and help hold another sign,

to hand out Gospel tracts,

take a turn proclaiming truth to the hearers,

or maybe just stand nearby to lift up the engagement in prayer support.

Or that at least that they will say, "Amen!" or "So grateful to see you out here for the Gospel!"

However, that is not nearly as common as you might think!

Most often, they approach with the statement: "You are not doing it the right way."

I personally endeavor, when in such a situation, to listen before I speak.  I know that it is good to be patient and humble when dealing with a brother or sister in Christ, even when they are communicating criticism.  Criticism can be constructive.

But sadly, most often their advice does not contain good instruction or biblical directives, merely personal opinion.

And I have found that they most likely do not have experience in open air evangelism or abortion mill ministry themselves, but they are certain that what I am doing should be done another way.

A way that is not so bold, not so offensive, not so loud.

Below are several of their objections, and Scriptural foundation for why we do what we do.

I.

Objection:

"Loudly preaching in the city streets is never effectiveopen air preaching is not a productive way to communicate truth."

Scriptural foundation:

Proverbs 1:20 "Wisdom crieth without; she uttereth her voice in the streets:"

Proverbs 1:21 "She crieth in the chief place of concourse, in the openings of the gates: in the city she uttereth her words..."

Proverbs 8:1 "Doth not wisdom cry? and understanding put forth her voice?"

Proverbs 8:2 "She standeth in the top of high places, by the way in the places of the paths."

Proverbs 8:3 "She crieth at the gates, at the entry of the city, at the coming in at the doors."

II.

Obection:

"Jesus had one on one conversations with peopleHe was personal!  He did not, nor would not, condone street preaching.  [Sadly, this statement reveals a shocking lack of knowledge of what Jesus actually did.]

Scriptural Foundation:

As we read the Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John), we find that during Jesus' time here on Earth, He spent a huge portion of His ministry preaching to multitudes, which included places like the sea shores, mountainsides, streets in towns and cities (all open air).  Jesus went where the people were.

Mark 5:21 "And when Jesus was passed over again by ship unto the other side, much people gathered unto him: and he was nigh unto the sea."

John 6:3 "And Jesus went up into a mountain, and there he sat with his disciples...Jesus then lifted up his eyes, and saw a great company come unto him..."

Rom 10:14-15 "How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!"

Luke 14:23 "And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled."

Fact check: My street preaching has lead to many one on one conversations, as well as ongoing discipleship.

Reality check: Jesus preached more in the public square than most Christian pastors or Bible teachers do today.

III.

Objection:

"Calling out to people sounds like you are yelling at themyou are turning them off by your manner.  And holding pictures of aborted babies (at the places that are killing babies) will only repel a mother from coming to talk with youshe needs your compassion, not your condemnation."

Scriptural foundation:

Ezekiel 33:8-9 "When I say unto the wicked, O wicked man, thou shalt surely die; if thou dost not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand. Nevertheless, if thou warn the wicked of his way to turn from it; if he do not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul."

Ezekiel 7:23, 22:2 "Make a chain: for the land is full of bloody crimes, and the city is full of violence.  Now, thou son of man, wilt thou judge, wilt thou judge the bloody city? yea, thou shalt shew her all her abominations."

Proverbs 31:8-9 "Open thy mouth for the dumb in the cause of all such as are appointed to destruction. Open thy mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and needy."

It is sad that many believers, when exposed to street ministry, will boldly state in passing (or in outright condemnation on the ministry), "You are doing it all wrong!"

They assert that anything we do that might "feel" fanatical or uncomfortable to them must be ineffective and unloving.  That opinion is based solely on a humanistic worldview and exposes their wrong thinking.

I remember one such man who was concerned with my manner of ministry specifically outside of the abortion mill. He urged me to "follow Isaiah 58" instead of what I was doing (which happened to be calling out to women with truth and the gospeloffering them help and hope in Christ, and our families willingness to assist them in their time of need).

Isaiah 58 gives directives for believers to fast and pray in order to loose the bands of the oppressed, brake every yoke of those burdened with sin, to give bread to the hungry, and to bring the poor into our own homes (important parts of loving our neighbor as we love ourselves)but the very first verse of Isaiah 58 tells the reader exactly how God desires His word to be proclaimed.  I quickly turned in my Bible and read out loud the very beginning of the passage to that man,

"Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and shew my people their transgressions, and the house of Jacob their sins" (Isaiah 58:1).

I then turned to him and stated, "Brother, I appreciate your exhortationbut that is exactly what I am doing."

Most Christians who react to the public proclamation of the Gospel (outside of some scheduled respectable church service) as to being loud or too forthright or lacking a personal touch, have actually never engaged in such a discipline themselves.

The following is a line of dialogue that I have experienced on many occasions:

(A. approaching Christian  B. Bible preaching Christian)

A. "I don't think you should evangelize the lost this way."

B. "Oh? If there is a Biblical way to do it better, I would be grateful to learn.  Could you share with me how YOU evangelize the lost?"

A. "Um, I don't really, haven't ever, well, I don't actually go out to evangelize the lost..."

B. "Then I must say that I think the way that I am doing it is better than the way that you are NOT doing it."

Let's get busy with the work of Evangelism, Church.  It is our duty!  Work for the night is coming.

Abortion must be abolished.

About the Middle Finger

The following may be a "handy" reminder for Christians who engage in the public square:

Those who stand for the Gospel publicly and who speak out against child sacrifice (the sin of abortion) in our culture will often encounter people who do not appreciate the light being shone into their darkness.

Whether they are walking into the murder mill or they are simply driving by, there seems to be a common responsethe middle finger.

Somehow our society has attributed this gesture as a way to curse and speak in a vulgar way without words.

It is easy as a human to be downcast, or downright angry, when someone arrogantly lifts their middle finger at you. Many Christians are alarmed or offendeddiscouraged, or indignant.

I would submit, however, that there are certain things we can and should remember when encountering this perverted form of opposition from those who hate God.

Stop and Remember...

Remember that the curse causeless shall not come. [Proverbs 26:2]

Remember to bless those that curse you.  [Matthew 5:4; Luke 6:28; Romans 12:14,17-21]
Do not be afraid to wave at those who seek to curse you.  I have seen it dismay the receiver, on a number of levels.  First, it is completely counter intuitive to human nature and confuses those with blasphemy in their hearts.  Secondly, it shows that they cannot rile us.  Our response can cause coals of fire on their headsthey will have to wrestle with the fact that we responded more civilly and more loving than they, although the narrative they believe makes Christians the "haters". And thirdly, I have seen instances in which they have been confounded in their plan, and have believed that we thought they were supporting what we were doing (and who wouldn't?).

Remember to rejoice. [Matthew 5:10-12; II Timothy 3:12]
We are commanded in Scripture to rejoice and be exceeding glad at any persecution that comes.  God has promised that those who live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer.  And really, I would have to say that getting a finger thrown in our face is the lowest level of persecution we could receive.  God says, blessed are the persecuted, the reviled, and the evil spoken of for His sake.

Remember that only fools make a mock at sin. [Proverbs 14:9]

Remember that this could be a sign of the Holy Spirit's conviction. I am always grateful for indicators that the Lord is working in the hearts of men. I’d rather see some type of reaction than none at all.

Remember that a finger is not an argument, (the finger is just an appendage of the hand, which you cannot extend but for the grace of God), and if someone has to resort to a gesture instead of giving a reasoned response they are evincing that they have lost the debate.

One thing that always comes to mind when I see someone show me the middle finger when I’m calling out to them on behalf of children in the womb, is that at least they are doing something

Most Christians won’t even lift a finger to stand against murder by abortion so rampant in our land.

And there is a question.

It is worth asking.

The question is, what are YOU doing to bring the Gospel into conflict with abortion?  What are YOU doing to love your preborn neighbor in word and deed and truth (engaging for equal protection under the law in a day when the culture at large, including the ProLife leadership and legislatorsand the church at largeare allowing the abomination of child sacrifice to continue under "color of law")?

Worse Than Coronavirus

Millions of Americans are worried about the COVID-19.  Our culture, economy, and every other aspect of life has been impacted by this virus.  It is being pushed to our attention just about anywhere we look.

COVID-19 is real.

And COVID-19 is a real concern for many people.

It certainly has caused sickness, suffering, and death.

Lockdowns and edicts have been put in place--every extreme and minor measure has been taken by medical authorities and political leaders to stop it! It has taken precedence in our nation and our homes through the media.

However, there is another malady in our midst.  It is not only more sinister than the dreaded Covid, it is pure evil.

It is also a real concern for many people (over 3000 a day--every day of every month--to be exact).  It causes great suffering...but most assuredly always causes death.  It has slain millions for decades and yet has not taken precedence in our nation or in our homes, and most certainly not in the media.

And in the face of such horrific numbers and documented statistics, our medical community or our political community have done nothing to stop it!

If you have not already guessed it, the evil to which I am referring is the sanctioned practice of child sacrifice!  And here I would like to point out a few comparisons when considering a threat to our nation.

Although the danger of COVID-19 is constantly kept before the public eye. The deathtoll from the intentional murder by abortion is ignored.

As of August 4, the deaths in the United States caused by COVID-19 tallied 156,549.  The U.S. deathtoll on August 4 itself was 1,392.

Looking at the news coverage one would think that the Coronavirus is the greatest danger facing our country at this time, when in fact that is far from the truth.

Deaths caused by a disease are most certainly tragic, but the death statistics of COVID-19 cannot be compared to death caused by abortion.

There are (at least) 120 deaths that occur by the act of abortion every single hour (of every single day) statistically in our nation alone.  How many deaths were recorded by abortion from just May and June of 2020? More than 180,000! Over 180,000 little girls and boys betrayed by their parents and systematically destroyed in our own neighborhoods and in our own counties without one news report.

Two months of abortion deaths surpassed the COVID-19 deaths of seven months!  Let that statement sink in.

And over 3,000 more will be added to the abortion death count every single day going forward.

What I desire to point out in this blog post is the utter mockery our nation has made of justice and mercy.  To call on every citizen to love their neighbors by staying inside or wearing a mask so as to keep each other safe from possibly getting a virus but ignore our littlest neighbor being purposely targeted for death--rather, exploiting and profiting from their murder--is unfathomable.

The reasoning behind keeping abortion "safe and legal" is the OPPOSITE reasoning given for quarantine, the practice of social distancing, or the wearing of face masks. And yet those who desire to see the evil of abortion alive and well do so under the false pretense that they care for humanity.  Standing for abortion rights (or doing nothing in one's power to stop abortion) is a human rights hypocrisy. For a community to do all it can to keep itself and others safe, especially the elderly and those with weaker immune systems while at the same time allowing citizens to target the most vulnerable on purpose is unspeakable.

And it is worth noting that, as Politifact states openly,

"Abortion is an elective procedure, not a contagious illness."

Humans incidentally dying by a virus in the teeth of our exertions is a tragedy.

Humans being intentionally murdered with government and societal cooperation under "color" of law  is a travesty--and an heinous treachery.

Let me expand on that last statement:
Abortion (child sacrifice) is an abomination
PROTECTED by government,
PROMOTED by society,
PROCURED by parents,
PRACTICED by the medical community, and
PERMITTED by the church.

Did I just write, "Permitted by the church"?

Yes I did!  As Francis Schaeffer wisely pointed out, "Every abortion mill should have a sign over the door that reads: Open by Permission of the Church." We are allowing child sacrifice to thrive just down the street from our places of worship while we live at peace with its existence.  Christians may not like abortion, but we have learned to accept and tolerate it.  This makes God's people complicit to the evil of our day.

We have been taught to be ProLife, but not Biblically consistent in our dealings with the murder of the innocent.

Millions of ProLife Christians have done little to nothing to Biblically and practically seek equal protection for the preborn.  They have been taught to think it is wrong but not taught what it means to obey specific commands that follow their sentiment.

Millions of ProLife Christians are not demanding that their leaders establish equal justice by abolishing abortion as the murder that it is.

Millions of ProLife Christians have never once stood on the sidewalk outside an abortion mill to preach the Gospel and plead for the lives of the least of these.

Multitudes of conservative, Bible believing Christians will say that abortion is murder, but won't treat it as the murder that it is.  (Just consider for a moment what the Church's response might be if the murder of 3 year old's became legal and protected fully under the law?) Is it more important to earn money, play a round of golf, enjoy a church potluck,or  practice hospitality in the home with other believers than it is to take a few hours in your life to be a voice for the voiceless--to plead with our legislatures to protect every human no matter their size of location, or to go where they are being murdered and plead for their very lives to be spared?

Consider:

  1. The number of the deathtoll from COVID-19 is grievous, the deathtoll from abortion is far greater.
  2.  The deaths from the virus are incidental, the deaths from abortion are intentional.
  3. There is well over a 90% recovery rate for those get sick from COVID-19, but if you are aborted, there is no chance of survival.
Finally, it is wise to remember that God is watching.

Psalm 106:37-40
37 "Yea, they sacrificed their sons and their daughters unto devils,"
38 "And shed innocent blood, even the blood of their sons and of their daughters, whom they sacrificed unto the idols of Canaan: and the land was polluted with blood."
39 "Thus were they defiled with their own works, and went a whoring with their own inventions."
40 "Therefore was the wrath of the LORD kindled against his people, insomuch that he abhorred his own inheritance."

"Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people" (Proverbs 14:34).

The Almighty God judged His own people for their shedding the blood of their children in human sacrifice.  How shall we escape, who have slain many, many more than they, and much else besides?

After the persistent massacre of over 60 million fatherless children in the face of God, whatever tragically happens to our nation is far less than what we deserve.

"Thou God seest me."

Let us repent, and beseech His mercy in the midst of wrath (Habakkuk 3:2).

Lest we receive a judgment Worse Than Coronavirus.

Abortion must be abolished.

Headline: Captain Quarters Now Made Safe on Slave Ships

I have heard some ProLife people justify making laws to ensure that abortion mills are cleaner and safer for women, by citing those who worked to require slave ships be more comfortable and healthy for the slaves (so that they would more likely survive their overseas voyage) in the past as their example.

This "likening" is error on a number of levels:

1. This type of regulatory law in our day is treating murder like healthcare.  That is deceitful.  Legislation that requires making buildings "look" more respectable and safer mollifies the conscience of parents--it helps them along in excusing what they are doing and in making their vain arguments seem substantive.  We are not to lie.  Murder should not be made safe (it cannot be made safe because it is not safe) nor respectable to society.  I have dealt with this in other posts.

The ProMurder crowd insists that abortion is healthcare.
The ProLife establishment declares that it isn't, and yet persists in treating it like healthcare.

Christians need to stand for truth in word and deed.

2. One plausible justification for requiring that the slaves' holding areas on ships be made safer would be that once they docked and were purchased they may survive to possibly be freed, to risk escape (and many did), or be eventually be emancipated. Slaves often were worked to their death or executed unrighteously, but being a slave did not automatically mean death. Abortion does not enslave.  Abortion slays outright.  Slavery and abortion are not the same thing.  Therefore this parallel is erroneous.

Comparing both regulatory logic does not compute:

One is saying, "Help the slaves not die while they are on the way to be slaves."

The other is saying, "Help those murdering their children not die while murdering their children."

Do you see the disconnect?  One is helping the victim, the other is helping the perpetrator.  Do you see the lack of both justice and mercy? What those specific ProLife regulatory laws are actually saying is, "Help the babies not die while they are being murdered."

And the reasoning would be comical if it wasn't evil.

3. And so, the only way we could make these ProLife regulations an actual parallel, would be if the abolitionists in the past were seeking laws to require that the cabin space for the Captain/Slave Traders be made more commodious and safe, not the quarters for the slaves themselves.  Oh, the horror.  The "health and sanitary" regulations for abortion centers today are not to keep the babies safe.  It is to help the mothers who are hiring the assassin.

I am going to say it again.

In the act of abortion, the victims are the babies in the womb, not the mothers.

The mothers are the ones seeking out the slaughter of their son or daughter. To get hurt yourself while slaying an innocent person is a risk the murderer has always been willing to take.  There are prisons full of convicts who were both physically and emotionally wounded by committing the act of murder.  But they are still guilty of that act, and we would scoff at setting up "safe killing stations" for those who feel the necessity to murder another human.  Instead we prosecute and punish the murderer in order to enact justice for the slain and to show society what is acceptable and what is not.

Inequity is iniquity.

Abortion is murder and must be abolished.

SHOCK! The U.S. Supreme Court Did Not Give Women the Right to Have Abortions?

Supreme Court rules on Roe vs. Wade in 1973 - New York Daily News

We have been lied to, folks.

The U.S. Supreme Court did not give women the right to have abortions!

The pro-choice activists have sidestepped the issue and boldly claim that a woman has a constitutional right to end an unwanted pregnancy.  And sadly, many in the pro-life political establishment also believe a woman's right to an abortion is constitutional.  However this is ignoring a glaring fact.

The fact:  The Supreme Court cannot make laws.  In 1973, the "right" to kill a preborn child was a perverted opinion impudently made by a panel of judges--and that is all.

Abortion is MURDER.  And murder is unconstitutional (making the Roe v. Wade null), no matter your size, stage of development, or location.  Abortion is not something a woman chooses to do to her own body.

It is a woman making the decision to kill another person's body.

No court has the jurisdiction to give someone the right to murder an innocent person.

You may not like your neighbor, but no matter how inconvenient it is to have him live next door you have no right to shoot him to death (the same is true of your child who lives in your house and eats all your food).

There is never a good reason to commit murder.  No matter how desperate the situation--deciding to kill an innocent human being is will never be the right choice.

So let us be reasonable.

Destroy misinformation.

Ignore Roe and defy tyrants.

Establish equal justice for all people.

Abortion is not a Right.

Abortion is a Wrong.

"It is time for thee, LORD, to work: for they have made void thy law" (Psalm 119:126).

Abortion must be abolished.
